Don't Let Intimidation Intimidate You

Introduction

Intimidation is something that everyone experiences

• Men and women
• Young and old
• Big and small
• Strong and weak

When it comes to experiencing intimidation – I am an expert

• It there was a club for the intimidated – I would be the president
• School – shy (never speak up)
• School Dentist – Ran home
• Friends house – poohed my pants
• Gymnastics – never got out the car
• Chest clinic – car broke down

The up side is that I’ve had a lot of practise at overcoming it

• People find it hard to believe that I was shy and easily intimidated
• Believe it – its all true

Intimidation is something that we have to continually deal with

• New things – Easter – painting and preaching – Ringing Ashley Evans
• Tired bodies – give in to your kids
• Emotionally low – call centre rings can't say no

Series is about us regaining lost authority and walking in it

In the beginning...

God created man to rule

God entrusted authority to Adam

• Man ruled over the animal Kingdom
• Adam was not afraid nor intimidated by of the animals
• Our animals weren’t intimidated by other animals
• E.g. Lions didn’t devour other animals

Adam in turn forfeited it to Satan

• E.g. Mitch – don’t blame Eve – you would have eaten the apple
• Have you ever disobeyed your father

Lost his authority

• Later fear between man and the animals he once ruled over (Gen.9:2)

Jesus came and regained the lost authority

A man forfeited his of authority therefore only a man could restore it

• Through Jesus mankind to rule and reign again

Our position of authority is found – IN CHRIST

Eph 2:6 NIV And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

Eph 1:21-22 NIV far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. (22) And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,

The Kingdom of God is just that – a kingdom

• Kingdoms are structured by rank and authority
• Satan was not after the lion or elephant

He went after Gods man

• If he could get the man he would get the lot
• He would get all man ruled over and cared for
  • To bring down a church – goes after leadership
  • To bring down a family – goes after the father
