Vision & Values

Our Vision

'What' God is calling us to do! (Prov. 29:18)

We believe that the church is the most effective way to achieve our vision.  Church is not a building, but a body of believers who have committed their life to Christ, follow him and obey his commands unreservedly.

At Victory Christian Centre we aim to be...

An apostolic church - working with an apostolic team to effectively disciple the nations
A base church - to plant, support and resource other churches
A bible-based church - accepting the word of God as the final authority on all matters
A caring church - consistently befriending, serving and giving to others
A contemporary church - being relevant to the times in which we live
A creative church - using the arts for God's glory (drama, dance, painting, music, etc)
An excellent church - excellence in spirit, attitude and practice
A family church - embracing all class, cultures and generations
A growing church - increasing numbers of people being saved and added to church
A generous church - joyfully giving our time, talents, possessions and finances
A healing church - restoring the whole person
A holy church - adopting a lifestyle of prayer, worship, obedience and sacrifice
An influential church - impacting every level of society
A Kingdom church - bringing glory to the King and extending His Kingdom
A lively church - experiencing the life of Christ in all its colour and creativity
A mature church - training, equipping & releasing all believers (majority serving minority)
A passionate church - expressing genuine excitement and enthusiasm for God
A prophetic church - seeing, preparing and becoming the future
A practical church - meeting the spiritual and physical needs of the people
A victorious church - overcoming in all areas of life and rising to our full potential
A worldwide church - influencing our community, city, state, nation and world

Our Church Gives Us

God's purpose to live for.  God's people to live with.  God's principles to live by.  God's profession to live out.  God's power to live on.

Our Values

'How' God wants us to do it! (1 Cor. 3:10)
Quote: "To compromise our values is to forfeit our vision"

Values are the "life standards" that we hold dear and are unwilling to compromise.

  •  Bible based, sound doctrine (Deut. 4:2)
"The Bible plus nothing, the Bible minus nothing"
  • Christ centred - aiming to honour Jesus in all that we do and are (Eph. 1:7-10).
  • Prayer - enthusiastic communication with God (with mind and spirit, 1 Cor. 14:15) on an individual and corporate level.
  • Local church - the most effective setting for living out our commitment to Jesus.  Universally (Mat. 16:18) and Locally (Mat. 18:17).
  • Personal (but not private) faith and love for God.
  • Spirit filled - continually (with evidence: gifts 1 Cor 12:7-11, fruit Gal. 5:22)
  • Enthusiasm - Wholehearted participation
         - Giving your best and lots of it. "Spirit of excellence".
  • Commitment - to what is best, not just what is acceptable (Phil. 1:9, 1 Cor. 10:23)
Eg. - consistent (not spasmodic) attendance to all major meetings (Ac. 2:42-47)
         Sundays, Home groups, Prayer meetings
  • Relational - sense of family (Father God, brothers, sisters) founded on...
love, trust, loyalty, friendship, patience, acceptance and accountability
         "Friendship before function"
  • Unity without uniformity - (Eph. 4:3,13) Common goals, different expressions
  • Generosity - unselfish, free from meanness and smallness of mind (2 Cor. 8:2)
  • Obedience - to Truth (Jm. 1:22) and to Leaders (Heb 13:17)
  • Sacrifice - mature, willing to pay the price (1 Cor. 6:20)
  • Liberty - Freedom from captivity, confinement and physical restraint (2 Cor. 3:17), not legalism or licentiousness
  • Reality - naturally supernatural, supernaturally natural (Jn. 14:6)
  • Integrity - soundness of character, honest, genuine (Phil 2:5-11)
  • Flexibility - open to change, teachable, adaptable (Lk. 5:26-39)
  • Priesthood of all believers - no "superstars", active involvement from all (1 Pet. 2:9)
  • Evangelism - as a lifestyle (Col. 4:5)
  • Long term view - finishing better than we started (Heb. 12:2)
